Background
When Thomson Healthcare, the international healthcare division of Thomson Corp.,spun off its professional websites to investors known as KnowledgePoint 360 Group, the company needed assistance separating the websites from the Thomson umbrella. Specifically, the new owners sought to simplify the sign-on process for the websites, giving healthcare professionals unified access credentials.
Business Challenges
Contractually, an aggressive timeframe was required to reestablish the websites under KnowledgePoint 360. The new owners felt it critical that busy healthcare professionals be able to access any of the sites with a convenient single sign-on. However, the network of websites had no shared resources, and the company required a secure process to protect the integrity of its user data.
The Parse3 Solution
Parse3 created a new single sign-on infrastructure that is independent of the network of websites.
The infrastructure enables existing sites — as well as those added in the future — to communicate with a single entity for authentication.Authorized users could log onto any KnowledgePoint 360 site, and be automatically and securely logged into every site in the network.
Best of all, Parse3’s seamless solution was transparent to the end user, requiring no change in credentials or log-in process.
